Safety is our number one priority. If you are tree trimming, building a deck, installing an EV charging station, upgrading your service, or performing maintenance on your customer-owned electrical equipment, it is important that you make safety a top priority too, by calling us us to have your electricity temporarily disconnected while you work.

Schedule a Temporary Disconnect

This service is free of charge, during normal business hours.

To help you plan your work, we ask for 72 hours notice to schedule a crew.

Please email or call our Customer Care Team to arrange for the power to be disconnected temporarily.

For more information on temporary service disconnections, please see sections "1.7.2 Safety" and "2.2 Disconnection" in our Conditions of Service.

Making Changes to Your Electrical Network

Check out this handy locator tool to verify that your electrical contractor is licensed by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).

Before making any changes or upgrades to your electrical network,  the licensed electrical contractor must call the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) at 1-877-372-7233 to apply for a permit. After the work is completed, an electrical inspector will ensure that your work meets all of the requirements of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
