Residential and small commercial customers can choose to switch the Electricity Price Plan that best meets your needs - either Tiered, Time of Use or Ultra-low Overnight price plans.

Under ULO pricing, customers are charged according to the day of the week and time of day that they use electricity, but with an ultra-low overnight rate that encourages high electricity-usage activities, such as charging electric vehicles, laundry or running the dishwasher, to be done overnight. ULO price periods are the same in the summer as they are in the winter.

There are four different ULO price periods:

  • Ultra-low overnight
  • Weekend off-peak
  • Mid-peak
  • On-peak

ULO rates, which are set by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), are expected to change once a year (November 1). The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) created an online calculator to help customers make their decision. The calculator is available on the OEB website.
