Waterloo Region Healthy Workplace Platinum Award
For three consecutive years, our team has been recognized by the Region of Waterloo for our wellness efforts. Safety and Wellness is a Core Value and we take responsibility for our personal safety, the safety of our co-workers, customers and communities. We also encourage and promote wellness at work, at home and in the communities we serve.
IHSA Outcomes Level 3 Safety Award
In 2016, we were honoured by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) with a ZeroQuest Outcomes Level 3 Safety Award for our ongoing workplace health and safety programs and focus on continuous improvement. We have been working progressively through the IHSA program since 2006.
Conservation Leadership Excellence Award
Honoured by the Electricity Distributors Association in March 2015 with a Conservation Leadership Excellence Award for embracing new, innovative technologies, including being the first utility in Canada to offer a Nest Learning Thermostat and Rush Hour Rewards program to customers; innovative marketing that drove up program participation in a business lighting program; and partnership on a large-scale combined heat and power customer generation project.
Mark Heese SickKids Believe Award
Our corporate beach volleyball team was recognized for its outstanding fundraising efforts in 2015 that supported childhood cancer research at SickKids Hospital.
Mayor's Workforce Training & Development Award
In 2014, we were honoured to receive the Cambridge Mayor's Excellence Award for Training and Development. Investing in our People is one of our strategic imperatives and as a first time recipient of this award, we are very excited to have our efforts recognized. Powerline Safety Award
We are part of a unique partnership with our neighbouring utilities, Guelph Hydro Inc., Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Inc. and Waterloo North Hydro Inc., that delivers targeted safety programs and training to key groups throughout the communities we serve. In September 2011, the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) awarded this collaboration a Powerline Safety Award at their annual Achievements in Electrical Safety award evening. The Powerline Safety Award acknowledges the efforts of individuals and organizations towards advancing safety culture and supporting the ESA in achieving their vision of an Ontario free of electrical fatalities, serious injury, damage or loss.
