Energy+ Is Measuring Public Awareness of Electrical Safety

Energy+ is conducting a telephone survey and offering an online survey/quiz to measure Public Awareness of Electrical Safety within the local utility's service territory.

Starting January 10, 2022, and continuing until early March, UtilityPULSE, on behalf of Energy+, will be randomly calling customers and members of the public across the City of Cambridge, the Township of North Dumfries, Brant County and Brantford, to assess the public's understanding of how to stay safe around electricity and electrical equipment.

The Telephone Survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will gauge your knowledge on safety topics related to powerlines, tampering with green transformer equipment, and other electrical hazards. You won't be asked for identifying details, such as phone numbers, home addresses or credit card and banking information.

We encourage you to participate in the telephone survey, if you receive a phone call from UtilityPULSE. For customers with the Call Display feature, the telephone number that potential respondents will see displayed is 5193447753.

Complete the Online Safety Survey/Quiz

Electrical safety is everyone's responsibility. An interactive and fun online electrical safety quiz/survey is also available and open to anyone in the local community who are interested in learning more about staying safe around electricity.

If you have children in your life, talk to them about six overhead and underground powerline hazards lurking in your neighbourhood. You could even complete the online survey/quiz with the kids and use it as a teaching moment. For more information and to complete the online safety survey, visit the Energy+ website at

Why We Conduct This Survey?

The Ontario Energy Board requires the survey to complete the Public Awareness of Electrical Safety Survey every two years. The results of the study will be included in the Utility Scorecard. Most importantly, it will help Energy+ shape its electrical safety education program and help keep members of our community safe from electrical hazards.
