 Ian Miles, President & CEO

Ian MilesIan Miles has been at the helm of Energy+ Inc. since August 2012.  Ian has over 25 years of experience in leading organizations through complex business and financial transformations in the utility and telecommunications industries, including his role as Chief Financial Officer at Guelph Hydro Inc. 

Ian has a Masters of Business Administration degree and a Chartered Director designation from The Directors College (a joint venture between The Conference Board of Canada and McMaster University).  Ian serves as Chair of the Board of Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

 Ernie Vidovic, Vice-President, Operations

Ernie Vidovic

Ernie Vidovic leads the Operations Team which includes Construction, Maintenance, Service and Power Outage response, Purchasing, Stores, Locates and Fleet Management.  Ernie is responsible for operations oversight of 48 staff in Cambridge, North Dumfries and Brant County.

Ernie joined Energy+ Inc. in 2016 and brings over 30 years' experience in the energy sector in various leadership positions in the area of Operations including Utility Construction, Project Management, Fiber Optics, Customer Care and System Control.

Ernie has a Bachelor of Technology in Energy Engineering from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Arts from University of Waterloo, and a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology from Mohawk College.  Additional noted achievements include a Master's Certificate in Energy Sector Leadership as well as a Master's in Project Management from Schulich School of Business at York University.  Ernie is currently registered as an Engineer in Training with the Professional Engineers of Ontario, has his CET designation with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists and sits as a Board member for Tillsonburg Hydro.

 Jane Hale-McDonald, Vice-President, Human Resources

Jane Hale-McDonaldJane Hale-McDonald joined Energy+ Inc. in December 1994.  Jane is an Executive HR Professional certified in corporate and employee development in unionized work environments.  Jane provides leadership oversight to many areas of the business including labour relations, compensation, strategic and succession planning, employment and career development, training, environmental health, safety and privacy. 

Jane has over 25 years in the energy sector, and over 10 years in private, manufacturing and public service industries.  Jane has completed her CHRL, Masters Certificate in Energy Sector Leadership, Schulich School of Business, York University, and Executive Master's Program and Mediation Certification through the University of Waterloo.  Jane is currently enrolled in the Chartered Directors Program, McMaster University. 

Jane has received the Woman of Distinction Award, for Education, Training and Professional Development and Volunteer of the Year Award for her service within the Waterloo Region.

 Sarah Hughes, Chief Financial Officer

Sarah Hughes

Sarah Hughes joined Energy+ Inc. in February 2013.  In her role as Chief Financial Officer, Sarah provides leadership oversight to many areas of the business including accounting and financial reporting, business planning and budgeting, regulatory affairs, treasury, enterprise financial risk management and billing/settlement.

Sarah is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 25 years of experience, including 15 years in the energy sector, as well as the broadcasting, telecommunications, and financial services industries.  Prior to joining Energy+ Inc., Sarah was Vice President, Finance at Horizon Utilities Corporation. 

Sarah has a Masters of Accounting and Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo, Ontario and obtained her Chartered Director (C.Dir.) designation from The Directors College (a joint venture between The Conference Board of Canada and McMaster University) in 2016.

 Paul Martinello, Vice-President, Information Technology Services

Paul Martinello

Paul Martinello joined Energy+ Inc. in January 2013.  In his role as Vice President, IT Services, Paul provides leadership oversight to all aspects of the information technology services provided to the organization.  This includes providing input on strategic direction, IT business planning and budgeting, cyber security, capital planning, infrastructure architecture direction, software architecture oversight, IT risk management and technical project oversight. 

Paul has over 30 years of experience in the Information Technology services business, including 6 years in the energy sector as well telecommunications, corporate security and financial services sectors. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration degree from McMaster University.  Paul attended the Queen's University Executive Programme and the MIT Technology Leadership Program.

 Barbara Shortreed, Vice-President, Customer Care & Communications

Barbara Shortreed

Barbara Shortreed joined Energy+ Inc. in November 1994.  In her present role, as Vice President, Customer Care and Communications, Barbara is committed to delivering excellence through the Customer Care, Collections and Communications teams.  An enthusiastic leader and change agent, she influences and inspires strategic and business planning processes to benefit Energy+ customers, communities and shareholders. 

Barbara has 35 years of experience, both in the Ontario energy sector, as well as private and public-sector experience in communications, marketing and the financial services industry.

Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from McMaster University, a Master's Certificate in Energy Leadership through the Schulich School of Business, York University and completed the Queen's Executive Leadership Program, Queen's University. 

Barbara is an active member and contributor at the EDA Communicator Council, the GridSmartCity Co-operative Communications Committee and a passionate volunteer at community events.

 Ron Sinclair, Vice-President, Engineering

Ron SinclairRon Sinclair joined Energy+ Inc. in May 1988.  In his role as Vice President, Engineering,
Ron provides leadership oversight to many areas of the business including engineering design/standards, asset management, Electrical Safety Authority compliance, control room operations and transformer station ownership.  Ron is a Professional Engineer with over 25 years of experience. 

Ron has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Electrical) from the University of Waterloo, Ontario.
