The following planning groups are working to identify the near-term and medium-to-long-term electricity supply needs, to ensure the continued reliability and supply security for electricity in the Region.

Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge-Guelph Regional Planning

Overall, the electricity infrastructure is in a strong position to meet and support future growth in this region. 

Integrated options for future distributed generation, and electricity infrastructure expansion and investment are being explored.

A working group comprised of staff from the Independent Electrical System Operator (IESO), Hydro One Networks, GrandBridge Energy (formerly Energy+), Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro, Waterloo North Hydro, Halton Hills Hydro, Centre Wellington, Wellington North Power, Milton Hydro and Alectra Utilities, is looking for public input to develop a plan for the region.
