Energy+ is governed by a Board of Directors that has ultimate accountability for the overall direction and results of the Corporation (regulated wires company). The Board oversees the conduct of the business and the performance of management, who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business.


There are four Board Committees: Audit Committee; HR/Nominating/Governance Committee; Special Advisory Committee; and the Executive Committee.

Anita Davis is a semi-retired executive with extensive international business and commercial contract management experience in North America and Europe.  When working for COM DEV Ltd., Anita established joint-venture companies in Xian and Suzhou, China, and managed joint-venture projects in Russia and Africa.  Anita is currently Board Chair of Energy+, and is President of the Canadian Federation of University Women, Kitchener-Waterloo: CFUW K-W.

Anita has served as a director for several not-for-profit and business organizations, including the Board of Governors for Cambridge Memorial Hospital, the Board of Directors of Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region (WCSWR), a member of the Canada China Business Council, and Board member for Transparency International (TI Canada).  As part of the global anti-corruption movement, Anita represented TI Canada at G8 Civil Society Dialogues in Jordan, Beirut and Bahrain in 2003.

Anita is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with a Diploma in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Organizational Development from American University, School of Public Affairs.  In 1995, Anita received the Cambridge YMCA Women-of-Distinction Award in Science and Technology.

Lynn Woeller is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds her Masters of Accounting degree. Lynn's professional experience is varied, including work in public accounting, the manufacturing sector and the software industry. Currently, Lynn works as VP Finance for a privately-held, national textile and wall covering distributorship. Lynn's previous Board involvement includes the Cambridge YMCA, Cambridge & North Dumfries Community Foundation and other smaller, local not-for-profit organizations. As a lifelong resident of the area, Lynn looks forward to continuing to serve the community through the Energy+ Inc. Board of Directors.

Martyn Champ

Martyn Champ has held Senior Executive responsibilities with a range of Canadian and International companies in the mining, electrical, automotive and consumer products industries. Martyn's broad range of management skills include financial management, manufacturing, distribution and logistics, labour relations, marketing and business development. Most recently he was CEO of Cambridge-based Dimplex North America Ltd.,
a position he held for 19 years until his retirement in 2012.

Peter Ferraro

Peter Ferraro is an Ontario lawyer with more than twenty-five years in senior executive legal roles with industry leading North American companies. Peter has served as in-house Corporate Counsel with John Labatt Limited and as Senior Vice-President, General Counsel & Secretary for Parmalat Canada. Peter presently acts as private counsel to other successful Canadian companies, and advises several CEO's and Presidents on strategic business matters in their respective diverse industries. 

Peter has also taken the lead, and successfully concluded numerous North American and International business transactions. Peter has completed the Management Certification Program at Rutgers University and has obtained a Chartered Director designation from The Director's College. He has recently concluded three successful terms as Chair of Guelph General Hospital's Board of Directors, a board that he has been dedicated to for several years. He also serves as a Board Director for Bioenterprise Corporation, a bio-technology business development company.

Susan Foxton

Susan Foxton is the Mayor of North Dumfries.  Prior to becoming Mayor, Susan served as a North Dumfries Councillor for 14 years.  In addition to her municipal responsibilities, Susan is currently employed as an Inventory Planning Co-ordinator at Dimplex North America.

Susan is a Conestoga College graduate of the Recreation and Leadership Program and Advanced Business Applications Program.  She has also achieved Canada Customs Introduction to Customs and Customs Duty Drawback certifications.

Previously Susan worked as a Youth Director, Aquatic Director and small business owner.

Susan enjoys event planning, volunteering, coaching and participating in sports.

Kathryn McGarry

Kathryn McGarry is the Mayor of the City of Cambridge. Before becoming Mayor, Kathryn has been a longtime nurse and a member of the Cambridge community, and an active advocate for people and issues that matter.

After moving to Cambridge in 1988 with her husband and family, Kathryn volunteered with many Boards, Committees and Task Forces representing social services, cultural, environmental, crime prevention, health care and planning related sectors. 

For example, she was a founding member of the Hospice of Waterloo in 1993, a past President of Heritage Cambridge, and was part of the Community Leader’s Task Force on Municipal Restructuring.

In 2014, Kathryn was elected as the MPP for Cambridge.  She was appointed to Cabinet as Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry and was promoted as Minister of Transportation.  During her tenure, she passed important legislation modernizing the Aggregate Resources Act and the Conservation Authorities Act and improving road safety.  Kathryn’s Private Member’s Bill, The Lung Health Act was passed in 2017, with an overall strategy to improve lung health in Ontario. 

Ian Miles

Ian Miles has been at the helm of Energy+ Inc. since August 2012. Ian has over 25 years of experience in leading organizations through complex business and financial transformations in the utility and telecommunications industries, including his role as Chief Financial Officer at Guelph Hydro Inc. Ian has a Masters of Business Administration degree and a Chartered Director designation from The Directors College (a joint venture between The Conference Board of Canada and McMaster University).

Gerry Remers

Gerry is the former President and COO of Christie Digital Systems Canada and has served in leadership roles for more than 20 years. He has taken an active role in the economic development of Waterloo Region for many years and brings extensive Board, Advisory Board, Leadership Council and consulting experience, having served in these capacities for the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, Communitech, the Perimeter Institute, Shad Valley, the KW Community Foundation and more.  After he retired from Christie, Gerry chaired the Ontario Government's Expert Review Panel assessing the effectiveness of the ONE (Ontario Networks of Excellence).  He became an inaugural board member of NGen (the Supercluster for Advanced Manufacturing) and was also the inaugural Chair of the Waterloo Region Economic Development Corporation.  He has served as the Energy+ representative on the Grand River Energy Board since 2018, and continues to work as a consultant to business and government. 

Sandra Vos

Sandra holds a Master's degree in Nursing Science and has worked in a variety of health care positions over the years in the areas of research, public health and nursing education. Currently, Sandra owns and operates a beef farm in Paris, Ontario.  Prior to the sale of Brant County Power Inc. to Energy+ Inc., Sandra was the Chair of the Brant County Power Inc. Board of Directors and a member of the Brant County Power Inc. transition board in 2015.  Sandra sits as an appointee by the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs on the Business Risk Management Review Committee, and continues to volunteer with many local groups within the County of Brant.
