CAMBRIDGE & BRANT COUNTY (June 22, 2020) – Energy+ is boosting the United Way Waterloo Region Communities COVID-19 Community Response Fund and the United Way Brant with a $20,000 donation to assist our most vulnerable citizens across the Energy+ service territory in Cambridge, North Dumfries and Brant County. In addition to individual employee and board member donations, Energy+ corporately matched individual donations, dollar-for-dollar.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funds will be used for urgent and emerging community needs impacting vulnerable citizens may include access to shelter, food, and crisis-related supports.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented time in our communities, and we know that many more people are struggling. I am so proud of the willingness and generosity of the Energy+ team of employees and board members, who continue to step up and show unwavering care and compassion for others,” said Energy+’s President and CEO Ian Miles.

Energy+ is also delivering a number of company-initiated and provincial measures for its customers as a result of COVID-19, including flexible payment arrangements, electricity support programs, the suspension of service disconnections for residential and small business accounts in arrears until July 31, a temporary waiver of late payment charges and the time-of-use electricity COVID-19 Recovery Rate.
